I edit using P2 or HDV via firewire. The new iMac has better specs than my Macbook Pro. Anyone have any insight as to Yea or Nea as an editing system for Final Cut Pro?

    Specs are

    # 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    # 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM – 2x2GB
    # 640GB Serial ATA Drive
    # ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB

Stick to the PRO hardware. MBP can get you more than one FW bus via the Express34 slot. And allow you to go to eSATA if needed. And allow you to edit on the road.

I currently edit my own videos on the iMac,
and I have no complaints. I enjoy working
with that computer, since it is fast and
it gets the job done well.
