My shop is going to Avid NewsCutter, and I’ve been playing with it for about a week now.

During our basic training session with an Avid staffer last week, a fella across the romm was having trouble with capture.. I wasn’t having any problem, so didn’t pay any atttention. but it had somethign to do with drop frame tc slaoved by renaming the tape and trying again.

On a couple of occassions this week, while trying to grab a long interview off DVCPRO, I had the capture stop in the middle and got a message to the effect that there was a break in the time code… looking at the tape on the deck revealed no breaks.

Any info would be appreciated… the only thing I can find on-line are references to improper use of the camera in terms of powering up and powering down.

    Thanks, J.S.

in the capture tool, try turning off the “toggle source” button, its the button that looks like a deck.

Go to capture setting in your project window under settings tab. make sure “capture across timecode breaks” is turned on
The globe icon/toggle source deck thingy icon is o.k if you dont need time code or you can just unselect timecode without toggling source.
