Titling tip: Inkscape!
I want to share a solution I recently found for a long-time frustration with Vegas Titling capabilities. I’m not talking about 3D-things or FX, but simply the situation when you have made 20 or more titles, decide that you want a different font or color or allignment or whatever, and then have to go through all the clips and change the settings manually for every title, one by one.
This time I made one large document in Inkscape (a great freeware open source vector drawing program, (https://inkscape.org/), in which I create all the titles. It gives me a quick overview of all the titles, and the ability to change styles/backgrounds/fonts/kerning/ etc. for all the titles at once.
Export has to be done per title but goes fast, because inkscape remembers the filename once you’ve exported a group of objects for the first time.
If you’re interrested how I do it, you find an example .svg file athttps://www.mediamax.com/Arthur23/FileManager#
Btw, I also use the inkscape documents to note any creative ideas, notes, any picture material that that comes up and I want to have access to. Apart from being a title repository it serves as a wonderfull scrapbook for my projects. Also great for storyboard, schematic sketches, thinkpad. Because it lets you zoom in and out endlessly you it helps you to structure complex projects.
