    Hello,

I’m working on a indie feature film edit on my Mac Dual 2.0 G5 with 2 Megs of ram, running Mac OS 10.4.11.

I did what we’re not supposed to do and changed the version of FCP I am working on from 5 to 6 in the middle of the project. After waiting 20 minutes to “update project,” (I thought it was crashing, but no) everything was working well. Except for my opening titles and end credits. It is looking for them in AE – “AE effects error, unable to load plugin,” “Title 3-D” to open and “Title Crawl” to close. However, I had simply created them in FCP 5, simply “Title” (using basic motion in the “motion” tab) and “Crawl,” not AE. It asks if I want to look in another directory, but I don’t know what that means. Is there any way to have my project re-find what I had created in FCP 5? Thanks!

    Kendrick

P.S. I know this is an idiot move, but I was “cleaning out” and got rid of my FCP 5.

You likely need to perform a clean install of your startup disk. Any time you go from a new OS to the next or a new version of studio, you should install it cleanly on a fresh install of your working OS.
