I (sorta) like the new titler in CS3… at least it’s a heck of a lot better the one in 1.5 that I used to use. Unfortunately, every time I re-open it, it rearranges itself to suck. The Tools area becomes WAY too big, and the options on the right hand side become a sliver. Is there any way to keep it from rearranging itself every time I open it?

Oh, and also, it pretty much always crashes every time I try to choose a font, which leads me to go font surfing in Photoshop first. That kinda blows.

The font issue is solved in the latest update (3.1.0) or so they say. As for the rearrangements, it is a hassle. So, I put the titler embedded into one of my saved window arrangements (workspaces).

    Window>Workspace>Reset Current work space (Editing).
ThaT will reset the titler as well.

While the issues might be new…it’s exactly the same title tool that was in PPro 1.5 as far as I know…maybe the alignment tools have been added? Otherwise the title tool has been virtually identical since Adobe Premiere (not “Pro”) v6.5 as far as I know…

    What am I missing?

[Tim Kolb] “What am I missing?”

The darn thing now is like loosely knit together with rubber threads. It falls apart easily and panels get lost.

I reported this bug in the public beta and worked with them to resolve it. I wasn’t surprised when the final CS3 version came out with that bug along with several others I had gone to the trouble to report.

So my conclusion was that it wasn’t a ‘public beta’ but a undertested ‘teaser’.

Tim – just open and close the titler windo a dozen or so times and you will end up with a postage stamp size work area but at least you can resize it back. I think you have been spending too much time with your FCP and not enough with CS3 – I wish I could spend more time on mine but its booked out solid with freelance work!

Well…maybe I haven’t been spending as much time in CS3 as I’d like, but it hasn’t been because of FCP…I’ll guarantee that. 🙂

This is a weird issue…I know there are some issues with the Titler window, but I haven’t verified this one yet…(let me quit FCP and try it…-click-)
