  • Titler – lost background video… how to get it back?

PPro5.5 – the “show background video” eye is checked, and all I get is black. Turn it off, and the transparent checkerboard appears. Everything else seems to be fine. Restart, different video underneath, etc, nada.

    ???

The video shown is based on the position of the playhead in the timeline.
The title would also need to be on the very top of the track stacking order 🙂

Check and check on those two items. I’ll try starting a completely fresh temp project & see if it still does it.

Aha! Fresh project, added a vid clip, added title…. bingo, back to normal.

Opened current project, added new sequence, added title – OK, it works. Add title to current sequence, fails!

What could the sequence have set that’s causing background video not to show through for titles?

    **edit**:
(me) well, Doctor, it hurts when I bang my head against the wall. (Dr.) so stop hitting it against the wall

yeah, OK, copied & pasted all clips from “bad” sequence into fresh seq, and all is well.

    dumb.

    LOL.

Not sure why it got corrupted, but you worked out the way forward 🙂

Thanks, JB! Slow to the solution is better than not at all. 🙂
