Titler – lost background video… how to get it back?
Posted by Bob Woodhead on November 28, 2011 at 11:12 pmPPro5.5 – the “show background video” eye is checked, and all I get is black. Turn it off, and the transparent checkerboard appears. Everything else seems to be fine. Restart, different video underneath, etc, nada.

November 28, 2011 at 11:51 pmThe video shown is based on the position of the playhead in the timeline.
The title would also need to be on the very top of the track stacking order 🙂Cheers JB

November 28, 2011 at 11:54 pmCheck and check on those two items. I’ll try starting a completely fresh temp project & see if it still does it.

November 29, 2011 at 12:02 amAha! Fresh project, added a vid clip, added title…. bingo, back to normal.
Opened current project, added new sequence, added title – OK, it works. Add title to current sequence, fails!
What could the sequence have set that’s causing background video not to show through for titles?
**edit**:
(me) well, Doctor, it hurts when I bang my head against the wall. (Dr.) so stop hitting it against the wallyeah, OK, copied & pasted all clips from “bad” sequence into fresh seq, and all is well.
dumb.
