It seems my computer is not fast enough to run Avid FX-boris. Also, when I create an animated text in marquee it takes a very long time to render. I know title tool has its limitations, but I was wondering if there was away to animate a glow across the title. I was looking at the highlight and lowlight colors and thought there maybe a trick to create something simple yet professional looking with that? Are there any tutorials or forums about some advance techniques with the Avid title tool?
    Thank you
    Peter

Avid’s basic title tool is, well, basic. The only way to do glows and such without Boris is to use After Effects.

What are your system specs? If you can run Avid, you should be able to run Marquee…

    Before I was frustating too.

But witt MC 3 and Animate Effect from Key Effect, it is an easy task.

Just make two layer of identical title. But below track is a color one and above full white text.

Go to Step In of Above layer, and Apply the Animate Efect on Postive title (not alpha).

Create a “Barn Door” Mask in Effect Editor menu, slight rotate, feathering, make two key frame in and out of this Slider Mask Effect.

    Hope it helps.
