  • Title Tool 16×9 oddness…

Im doing some title fixes on a project someone else cut. The footage and graphics are all 16×9, but whenever I open existing Titles on the timeline in title tool to change them, they appear 4×3 in the title tool window(so does the reference video that the text is on top of), and come back to the timeline that way once I save them. Same thing happens in Marquee. Is there a setting in Title Tool Im missing? Im running MC on a PC

Do you have your source / record monitors set to 16:9 (right click on the monitor and select 16:9)? The title tool should open in whatever format the S/R monitors are set to…

I just tried that this morning but the source record monitors are set to 16×9. So Title tool opens in 4×3 in either setting for me.

Figured it out. There was a 16×9 filler matte on the top level of video which was making title tool behave badly.
