Title Safe Area
Posted by Mark Dershowitz on August 25, 2009 at 5:42 amHello Everyone, I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. I have a question regarding the title safe area. Im Running FCS 2, Final cut 6.0.6 on a G5 1.8ghz Dual Power Pc. I seem to have this problem with the title safe area, In the Canvas and viewer I can only see half of the title safe box. Please have a look and the picture Look in the overlays you can see the lines. What do you think the problem is? Strange no. Thnaks

August 25, 2009 at 1:03 pmThe problem is you don’t even have Title Safe activated. You must be referring to something else.

August 25, 2009 at 5:13 pmHi,
Looks like you might have the ‘range check’ turned on. Try turning that off and see if your safe area returns to normal. I have seen the ‘range check’ make the scopes and overlays behave weird before.
Could use more info. When did this start? On a new project? On start up? -

August 25, 2009 at 8:36 pmThanks for responding Scott. Range check was off the whole time, Tried with it turned on and nothing changes. Title safe is there, I can see it behind the black not over its strange. It just started all of sudden, I dont to do a reinstall but I might have to. What do you think and other Ideas? Thanks

August 25, 2009 at 11:30 pmHi,
In the first clip you posted the range check is clearly on. The zebra, and the yellow triangle are the clues there.
Trash prefs and repair permissions, also try loading one of the other widow arrangements.
When was your last OS update? Saw some reports of weirdness after the last OS update.
Other than that, I don’t know. I couldn’t replicate the problem.
