February 16, 2007 at 6:11 amAnytime you add something with an alpha channel or something that is not EXACTLY per your project specs, you need to render. No way around it.

February 16, 2007 at 6:28 amI don’t think I used an alpha channel.
I believe i just opened the title program in PP2 and typed right into it…
then added to the time line
How would I tell if its an alpha channel..it seems to be 100%
sorry

February 16, 2007 at 8:38 amAll titles use an alpha channel to “cut out” the text over the video. If it didn’t you’d never get to see your video underneath :o)

February 16, 2007 at 12:49 pmYou can preview at any time, usually no time lags. Only render after your product is finished. In fact, if you client needs is DVD or web… then render to that format. Don’t render to another DV avi.

February 16, 2007 at 2:09 pmOk, if you say so,,,But thats odd as I’m not trying to see through the title just cover a section of the video with the title.
This seems so counter productive and time consuming. 28 miinutes to add two words that run on the screen for 1.5 hours.
I’m beginning to love my Velocity system so much more.
It never requires a simple title to render at all.
Cant imagine a client paying for this misuse of time

February 16, 2007 at 3:22 pmI cannot understand why people continue to criticize programs like Premiere, wondering why they do not do x, y or z which another more advanced hardware based system did better.
Understand what you are using and how it works before complaining about it.

February 16, 2007 at 3:57 pmComparing a product that just uses the PC against a product that has a hardware assist?
That is like comparing Batman’s strength against Superman’s. Batman works hard for his muscles, while Superman got his for no effort at all by chance of birth and the cost of a spaceship.
Buying Velocity is like buying that spaceship. It gets you places faster.
If you want to compare, the get a Premiere Pro compatible product with Hardware assist, like the Matrox Axio.

February 16, 2007 at 4:44 pmOr just deal with the render times and spend more time on an island somewhere, looks like you need some stress relief 😉
But yes, I bet you that with $5000.00 you can match the performance of Velocity with Premiere, and get a new PC as well, it’s just that 90% of Premiere users can deal with a real time render of slightly lower quality, and save $4000.00 in the process.
Cheers

I own an MATROX RTX100..but never used with PP2..
is it compatable?
Will that resolve some issues I may experience?
Thank you
