  • Title “Fade In/Out” Timing

I created a new FCP Title in Motion and added a fade in/out behavior set to 24 frames for both in/out. When I use the title in FCPX it fades correctly when first dropped in, but when I lengthen or shorten the clip, the fade lengthens and shortens as well. Is there a way to make the fade behavior keep it’s timing regardless of the title’s length?

You need to use a timeline markers after and before each fade and set them to “Build In” and “Build Out” respectively. Whether “- optional” or “- mandatory” is up to you.

Thank you. That was just the clue I needed. I found the details in the Motion help files.

My title is working perfectly now.
