Whenever anyone, especially me, simply says ProRes, that means ProRes 422. It’s the standard, and all of the other flavors are pretty much specialty items.

However, if you’re creating titles with an alpha channel, ProRes 4444 is the one that carries alpha, much like the formerly used Animation (millions +) codec.
