I’m making a credit list for Final Cut and I’m having trouble not getting flicker on the sequence. The sequence is white text on a black background. I’ve tried a few different fonts and the font size is around 30 or so.

Is there any font that lends intself to reducing the flicker on crawling text? I’ve put a slight fast blur on the text and tried a soft shadow but the flicker is still bothersome.

    Thanks in advance.

You’ll need to render the footage as interlaced to remove the flicker. White on black seems worst than anything though.

Or try a adjustment layer on top using Effect>Video>Reduce Interlace Flicker – mostly a value of 1 works perfect. With this you can still render in frames. Also you can try enabling motion blur.

    cheers
