Tired of “Force Quitting” FCPX on iMac i7
I would say about half the time I go to quit FCPX (10.05) I wind up “force quitting” because of the spinning beach ball of death.
I sometimes wait to see if it quits on its own, but after 15 or 20 minutes I usually give up. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I have an iMac i7 using the latest system from Apple, OSX 10.7.4 (Lion). This force quit issue has been the case since I began using FCPX, none of the updates have cured this.
I have quite a bit of material I am working on as it is a full length feature film, and nothing ever gets lost when I force quit (thank you GOD), but still, I don’t think this is the way FCPX is supposed to work. Right?

Strange. But—have you checked your background rending tasks? If it is still doing stuff–rendering, analyzing, etc.—it won’t let you quit. It should however bring up an alert that tells you that.

Try deleting your FCPX preferences.
