Hey Cows, thanks for taking a look at this post. I’m trying to replicate an effect, but i’m struggling on exactly how to go about doing it.

So far my thoughts are perhaps creating a grid and then doing some sort of “checkerboard” color map on top of that and then cycling the colors using an expression? It looks like there’s a cascading effect though, which leads me to think they’re lines of plus signs animating downward, with a cycling color expression. I’m at a loss, see what you think.

Animated Fractal Noise with Mosaic applied affects the color and a different one affects the opacity (as a Track Matte or with the Set Matte effect).

My observation: the grid doesn’t move, and the colors and circles are animated on top of the grid.

So, I would start with a grid, animate a layer filled with random colors on top of it, then block out the round shapes with another (animated) layer on top of that.
