  TIP: Fast AE launching / multiple AE threads

  not sure if this is common knowledge, but instead of launching the app via the dock or otherwise, open up terminal and COPY + PASTE the following

  /Applications/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CS5/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/After\ Effects

  or

  /Applications/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CS5/Adobe\ After\ Effects\ CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/After\ Effects

  Doing this will skip the GUI messages and it will launch in less than 20 secs on a Mac Pro 8-core.

  You can also open a new window and .. launch a second version.. helpful if you’re rendering in one and have enough RAM to launch another.
