Timewarp (Emergency posting–deadline)
Posted by Christopher Louie on May 18, 2006 at 1:02 pmI’m having trouble with Timewarp in AE 7.0 Professional. Every time I apply the default of 50% my initial clip size doesnt extend, in the timeline it stays static no matter what I do. I’m on deadline for a project tomorrow, somebody please help.
Thanks you.

May 18, 2006 at 3:38 pmThe timewarp clip uses a relative start value of the entire length of your clip. Meaning it’s speed chaning from frame 1 regardless of your in and out points.
I would precompose your footage with some (20 frame) Handles and then apply the timewarp to that precomp.
I hope this helps,

One note, in the precomp of your shot I would add blank space to the end of that comp. Meaning if your shot is 5 seconds I would make the comp have an extra 5 seconds of black at the end. This will allow you to extend it in your primary comp.

I cant figure out a way to extend the actual footage in AE. I’ve set the comp to double the speed but dont know which functions will allow me to pull the end of my out clip on my footage.
What do you mean exactly by “20 frame handles”?Thanks

Yes ditto. I can’t figure it out either. My clip slows to 50%, but stays the same length
(so I only can see the first half… slowed down)This is causing the second half of my dance/excercise video to be VERY boring.
Thank you all in advance!!!
