So, I recently went tapeless, and I’m getting used to it. When I now look at captured footage in the viewer after uploading it through log and transfer, I cannot figure out what the timers are referring to. It doesn’t seem like they are referring to time within the clip, unless I am somehow reading it wrong. The footage is 24fps. Am I missing something? I asked someone else who said they have the same issue

What kind of footage & what codec was used? Why do you think it’s wrong? Did you shoot with timecode and it’s not showing up?

It’s 24 fps in a Pro Res 422 codec. I now see that the time code box is giving me the time for where I was on the SD card I was using. In my workflow, however, I typically watch the clips in QT after transferring them, making notes on them. This means I’m making notes on timing specific to the clip. Is there any way to change FCP so that the time code box just gives me timing for the specific clip?
