Is there any way to change the Sequence prefs so that you dont get the semi transparent thumbnail over the edit point as you drag and drop?

No. You can always just use F9 or F10 or click the buttons to avoid drag and dropping altogether. I recommend that you learn the keyboard shortcuts as dragging and dropping is a rather pokey way to work, IMHO.

Im all for keyboard shortcuts. Pokey? maybe, but Im not slamming together industrial films. Pokey is having that thumbnail appear on every edit.

If it’s the thumbnail in the clip you’re talking about, you can turn them off in Seq. Settings (CMD + Zero). Is that what you mean?

Kevin- Its the 50% opaque thumbnail that follows as you drag from the viewer window to the sequence. Its not a big deal but it would be great to see clearly where you are dropping the clip. ie on certain waveforms or other markers etc.
