I am currently using FCP4.5/OSX.4.1/ATI 9600; I believe that comes stock/no video card in PCI slots/Fibre card to attach Xserve Raid to a Dual2.5 G5-1.5GB Ram.

Whenever I am editing in FCP, I get this weird problem where I can’t get my monitor to update the display. So for example today if I were to render a sequence the timeline plays it fine. But If I go & change something in the timeline that forces a re-render then my display won’t update. It sits on the frame that it was on when it started or it will stay on the default unrendered slate that pops up. I have to close my sequence & then reopen it as the only workaround that I have discovered so far. I have my settings to Fit to fill, with no overlays set, & have noticed that if I have the image+wireframe on it causes this flaw to happen more frequently. If I don

    Hey Jerry,
My sequences aren’t specific-some are uncompressed 8bit timelines, some animation, some DV, etc, etc.
When I am talking about my monitor I guess I should of said my computer monitor, I do these projects for internet only applications so I don’t need an external ntsc broadcast preview monitor like I have in the other suites for color correction for broadcasting sequences.

    I get it…

It’s the Canvas that’s not updating? Maybe if you just move the timline a frame? to force it to look at the new unrendered material a frame before or later?
