I’m working with HDV 108060i in FCP 6. I render my timeline, and it will render, however when I click on the timeline to begin editing again, it reverts to being unrendered. This started happening over the last few weeks, and now it happens every time I render. I looked over all my settings and everything appears to be the same as it was before I started having this problem. Any thoughts about what the issue could be? Thanks.

a bit more info… sometimes after rendering I can click on the timeline and it stays rendered, but as soon as I navigate away from FCP (to check email in another window, for example) and then go back to my timeline, it becomes un-rendered again.

    Nathan,

Did you check that the render scratch drive is set to a valid location, and that there is enough room on the disk? It could also be a problem with the read/write permissions for that location. As a test, you could try setting the render location to a different folder and see if that fixes the problem.
    Hope this helps,

Thanks so much, Matt. I changed the location of my scratch drive and that seems to have done the trick.
