Timeline won’t play
I’m on premiere pro CS3 and the timeline has decided not to play when the play “arrow” is clicked.
(note: once arrow is clicked it changes to the “square” for stop, but no time passes on the the timeline, no other activity, nothing. Just the play/stop icon will change symbol but no activity.I have to close the project and open it again. It will work fine , for a while, and then not respond without warning to the play click.
Please advise

Do you have virus or spyware scanners running?
Is your video drive full and/or badly fragmented?
Is your video drive external USB?Start>Run and enter dxdiag
look at each page near the bottom…should say “No Problems found” -
I am running projects on my Mac. Made the switch little over a year ago from P.C.
The problem is happening on both when I retrieve project from external drive and/or destop harddrive.

I have switched to mac, so I do not have access to defragging the drives.
