Timeline troubles
Hello…newbie here Vegas Pro 8.
My timeline somehow got very large (1hour) as I was working on a 3 min video. I think it got that way when I pulled a large piece of media and then deleted it.
When I render the video it comes out an hour long even though the events are only 3 mins. I have checked to make sure there is not some small event out past the 3 mins in the timeline.
Is there a way to delete this extra timeline or is there a way to choose in and out points like you do in the DVD software? I am trying to render an file for the internet and do not need the mpeg2 used for DVDs.

My suspicion is that there’s a tiny sliver of an event down at the 1 hr. mark.
To confim this, click thr FFWD button and see if it ends where you think it should or way down the timeline.
If, as I suspect, it’s the latter, delete it and you’ll be OK. -
If you continue to have a problem afetr Mikes solution you could try this:
Make your three mibute video into a region and then render it to a new track. Should not lose any resolution. Then delete the old track. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I believe it was a marker stuck out there. I did not think it would read that as part of the video.
I went in and trimmed the whole thing and it seemed to work.

If it’s a nested VEG file, and depending on the version of Vegas you’re using, that can happen. Was it nested? And what EXACT version of Vegas are you running?
