Timeline Setup Error – Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Hi all.
Made a total school-boy error. Currently editing a sequence and was having some major delays when it came to previewing the footage. Checked the sequence settings and realised I have been editing 1440×1080/1080i50 footage in a timeline with a much smaller resolution (720×576). On copying and pasting the edit I’ve done into a 1440×1080 timeline, this causes the images to be displayed at their previous resolution but in a larger canvas, and the same thing happens when I export an EDL or XML and try to import it again.
How can I convert/amend my current timeline to view it as 1440×1080, 1080i50?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Open your sequence settings, change it to the appropriate size codec.
Open the first clip in the timeline in the viewer (double click on it), select the motion tab and set the scale back to 100 (it will have been resized smaller in the original timeline). If the footage is distorted, you may also need to adjust the aspect setting as well.
With the first clip corrected, copy it and hit Apple+A (or select all from the menu) to highlight all your video. Right click on it and select ‘paste attributes’. In the resulting menu tick ‘basic motion’ and click ok.
All your video should now be correctly and natively displayed in the timeline. If it is not, you have incorrectly set the sequence settings. To check this, drop a clip into a new sequence, and allow FCP to automatically adjust the timeline to match the footage. Make a note of the sequence settings created, and duplicate them in your existing timeline.
