January 26, 2010 at 10:47 pmSorry Rob I’m a little confused, deinterlace in Compressor for DVD?
Are you able to jot me down your quick workflow?
Rob, is there any easy way or maybe a plugin that will allow me to interlace the progressive footage?

January 27, 2010 at 3:01 amSorry for the late response – had to go to an FCPUG meet after work today.
Anyway, here’s what i’d do:
Convert your 1440X1080 50i to 1920X1080 25p ProRes. Doing this keeps all your media in the same format, which is ideal for editing.
Once you are done editing, export a FCP reference file. File > Export > Quicktime Movie. No need to make a self-contained file since you will encode the MPEG file on the same machine you are editing on.
Once your FCP reference file has been created, bring that into Compressor. Apply the “DVD 90 minute Best Quality” settings to your file. Set it up for 720X576 50i. Make sure you turn Frame Controls on and set all the options to Best. Compressor should then spit out an MPEG and AC3 file.
Bring the MPEG and AC3 file into DVD Studio Pro.
