Timeline Out of Sync
I’m new to the FCP world, and I searched for this in the post, but couldn’t find my direct problem. I have FCP 5 or the 5.1, and I recently edited some video in a 24p project b/c one of the cameras footage I was using was shoot on a 24p cam. The other piece of video was originally shot on a BetaSX and had to be dumped down to DVD then imported into the FCP that way.
I subclipped all of the video into different bins. I started layingd down the clips to the timeline, and everything was okay from both sets (the 24p cam, and the DVD footage) then about halfway in, the video and audio from the DVD clips started to loose sync. They played fine in the source monitor, and even on the timeline til about 1-2 mins in. My In and Out point was set on the souce, but once I laid it to the timeline it was off and they varied in how much they were off by.
I thought it was doing it in a pattern, b/c at first it was off by 10 frames, then 11, then 12, but after that it was off by a whole second and a couple of frames.
I’m not sure what I did wrong, if any. I remember raising the Minimum Allowable Free Space on Scratch Disks, and playing around with the Link feature, but that was it. And even then I don’t think those things would do something like that. I also tried to created a copy of the project and see if it still does the same thing, and it did.
Can anyone help?
