I am editing mpeg video but am getting mostly jerky playback not synched with sound, etc…

its difficult to work with at the least, but when exported it seems to be fine.

anyone know why this is occurring? and fixes?

Probably because premiere prefers frame accurate video, and mpeg relies on keyframes to keep things in sync. You’d probably do well to convert your mpeg to either DV or uncompressed format before editing it.

You will have better luck with Premiere Elements 3.0 and editing files other than DV.

You need to get the mainconcept mpeg pro plugin if you want a decent editing experience with Mpeg on premiere pro.
