    Is it possible to simply mark in out on the timeline and then perform a ripple delete or lift across all tracks without making a compound clip? Or am I missing something?

    Not across multiple levels. You’d have to select the clips and use Command-B or the blade tool to cut them.

    It would be good if the range tool had a multi-select at least.
