  • timeline clips with titles unrendered after 4 minutes?!

Posted by Dominic Elliot on January 11, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Can someone advise me on a solution to a problem I’ve been encountering recently?

All my video plays fine in the timeline without needing rendering until I add titles on top, but only after 4 minutes of timeline. The first 4 minutes is fine, but after that it wants me to render every clip whenever I put a title on top!

Since I am subtitling a whole lot of speech, this is going to drive me mad as I’m going to have to render hours of material every time I make any adjustments to the title, or else make hundreds of new sequences with only a few minutes of speech on each one!

How can I avoid this? Be grateful for any advice or tips! Thanks!

What codec are you using? What are your timeline settings? What are your RT settings? What titling tool are you using?

    Hi,

First of all raise the “Still Cache”. If you got a real lot of subtitles you should distribute them to tracks where only that “title track” should be enabled which you are working on.

Thanks for the help. My codec is DV PAL 32KHZ (which is what it was filmed in), the RT settings are set to safe, and the timeline settings are on low quality playback. The titling tool I’m using is simply lower third in the title options!

Thanks you also to the person who suggested I increase the still cache. I’ve done this from 10% to 100%, but still have the same problem
