    Timeline & Canvas not showing.

    1. Have clicked Cmd 2 and Cmd 3 but this has not worked.
    2. In Windows toolbar – Canvas and Timelline are greyed out so cannot click to bring them back.
    3. Clicked Window – Arrange – Standard – Timeline and Canvas does not show.
    4. Clicked Window – Arrange – Two Up – Timeline and Canvas does not show.

    Any other suggestions?

    Trash your fcp prefs.

File> New Project, or File> Open> already saved project

FCP, unlike Avid, will run without an actual project being open, but canvas and timeline will not appear until one is open

Ha. Just had that same problem last night. Don’t know why it happened.I tried all the same things as you. In the end I think I closed all the remaining windows individually (browser, viewer etc) and then reopened the project. That seemed to work.

Also notice that unless there is a sequence in the browser window the same thing happens – no canvas or timeline windows
