Timed recodrings
Is there any software that can capture SDI input using a timer, or get FCP to start capturing at a certain time? I have a AAPT news feed that comes in via SDI that I want to set to record and stop at various times of the day, I have a blackmagic decklink extreme card. I can’t use quicktime pro because I want to capture @ DV50, quicktime pro doesn’t allow to change compressor from native so just records it uncompressed.
Any ideas? -

I would have thought you could achive this with the features in Automator in Leopard (if you are running it yet). It has a GUI record feature that pretty much allows you to automate anything.

I heard automator had been updated some what and I haven’t got leopard yet, but if that will work I buy it. Is some one able to test it for me. To see if Automator can start & stop a FCP capture. Much appreciated.

I once made a news feed recording application based on image recognition. It’s fairly simple to alter it to record on specific times.
If there is a VDIG installed, it can record to any codec available on the machine.If you’re interested, drop me a line and i’ll set up a demo.
