I’ve looked but can’t seem to find a timecode reader in FCPX for creating a burn-in super. Is there one in there I’ve missed seeing?

There is a timecode generator under the generators section which you could use – not as reader, unfortunately, and you can’t set the TC offset so it always starts from 00.00.00.00.

In Motion 5 you can adapt the timecode generator (you can find it under Generators) to offset the start time, which is a bit more useful – but not much.

And if you’re looking for something that will display the actual TC of your sourrce clips you will have to look elsewhere, I’m afraid.

That’s what I was afraid of … Maybe they’ll add one in. Thanks.

Downloaded and installed this motion effect over last weekend and it works great. Thanks for pointing me to it.

    John
