  • Timecode randomly being captured in Vegas – Decklink HD Extreme

    My setup is as follows:
    Decklink HD Extreme
DeckLink 6.6.2 drivers for Vista 32 bit
    Windows Vista 32 bit
    Vegas 8a
Sony Beta SP deck connected via component.

I’m capturing through Vegas and most clips do not retain the timecode from the beta tape. I’ve found a work around that works most of the time and that is to reboot, start up vegas and capture my file. If I need another file captured, I must reboot again and do the process over but even that has a 25% fail rate of getting no timecode.

Going into advanced capture doesn’t work at all. I can log all my clips, correc timecode is showing up in the logging window, but when I go to batch load the deck goes to around the first clip, and then starts capturing immediately. It doesn’t start at the correct timecode and from there on it just captures a single stream ignoring all the individual clips. I must cancel the opperation to get it to stop.

I don’t believe this is a Vegas issue since capturing in Blackmagic deck control doesn’t get the timecode either.

What can I do to correct this?
