I’m transcoding 5D Mark iii footage using the excellent 5dtorgb batch application. I deselect the “override timestamp in THM” option to retain the timecode, which works fine for the first few clips but will, at random points suddenly deselect this option and render the files with timecode starting at 0:00:00.

I’ve also discovered a slight discrepancy in the timecode created by 5dtorgb (when it works) to the timecode generated by the camera itself. I assume this has something to do with basing the timecode on the THM files. Adobe Media Encoder doesn’t have this problem but doesn’t do nearly as good a job.

Does anyone have a solution or a better workflow to get the most out of this footage? I’m still using Final Cut 7, so native editing is not an option.

    Thanks!
