I know you can use the timecode overlays to view the original TC in the canvas, but the overlay dissapears if you set the timeline in play. Is there a way around this?
The filter ‘timecode reader’ is a solution but it isn’t always accurate, when I apply it to a clip and remove a part of that clip, the timecode is of when you play it.
I hope FCP5 will bring a seperate timecode window!!!

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

You could perform a match frame of the video that has the tc you want to watch, then gang the clips…?? the TC window in the Viewer then would be the source TC moving along, right?
