timecode in source monitor
Okay, I’m saving all my questions for today… sorry ’bout that.
I can’t go to a specific timecode in my source monitor by typing it in from the keypad directly into the source monitor “screen.” (i.e. to find a bite). It lets me type in the timecode but when I press enter it does nothing but beep. I’m working on an Avid Newscutter on a Windows system. (By the way, is there a setting where I can turn off this beep?)

Make sure that you have right TC counter selected above the source monitor. It should read V1. If there are two rows of timecode, make sure the top one is V1 and set to timecode.

If memory serves, you have to press the Enter key NOT Return key for it to work.

Whenever I’ve had the error your descibing, I”ve either not had the TC above the monitor set to the correct one (i.e. Master) – as detailed above – or I’ve pressed the normal RETURN key on the keyboard, and not the ENTER key on the Numeric keypad. Has to be the ENTER key.
I know you said that you pressed ENTER, but a lot of people use these two keys as the same – and apart from this one instance on Avid, they are. -
