  • timecode generator at 23.98?

    Hi Everyone,
I’m on FCP 6. I’m trying to export a DV file with timcode burned in from a 23.98 sequence for an upcoming ADR session. I’ve cut the entire movie at 23.98 per suggestion of my lab, and nested the edited sequence into a new sequence, also 23.98. The sound team is asking for the timecode burn to match the frame rate of the sequence. Low and behold, there doesn’t seem to be this option in the FCP timecode generator. Everything under the sun, but no 23.98 option. Has anyone experienced this dilemma? I’d greatly appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,
    George

why not use the “Timecode Reader” filter on the nest instead ?

Don’t you love when the answer is right in front of you and you can’t see it? Thank you Andy.

Just another thing to add here. When you nest a sequence, and want to use the timecode reader on the nest……if you want to change the start timecode for the reader, you must do this in the sequence settings (since its a reader and not a generator). You have to make this adjustment to the original sequence. The nested sequence timecode has no bearing on what the timecode reader will display. I thought that was interesting and wanted to share.
