Usually this way works fine, however i cannot see what is wrong with my current project so i have just done a test.

    1)new avid project
    2) Link to one R3D file via AMA
    3) choose a small section and placed on Timeline
    4) Export AAF with edit protocals which i have done before
    5) Open resolve
6)COnform tab and import AAF (used default settings)
    7) Choose the location which the R3D file is located and choose the one i have selected
    8) I then get a error about timecode edtents

    Any ideas?????

A screen shot to show my error!

Could be an edgecode vs. absolute timecode issue.

In Resolve’s settings > Camera Raw > Red you can change ‘Timecode: Camera’ to ‘Absolute’ and see if that helps. For some reason (particularly if a Pix 240 was used on set) the absolute TC settings in R3D files get changed to edge on some clips, this should work around that issue.

As a general point, there is a setting in Master Project Settings / Conform Options called “Handle mixed framerate material”. I have found that AAF round trip workflows seem to succeed more reliably when this is turned ON, even if the material does not contain any mixed framerates. Dunno why but it seems to solve some problems.

Hi John that worked great! Im not very well versed in Resolve and it was more of a test for a larger project, but it handy to know about different set ups for different cameras ect!

    Cheers
