Ive configured a HDV – DVCPRO HD workflow setup for a client and am having timecode errors on capture.

If you sets ins and outs or if you jam capture… FCP always stops recording and cant locate timecode. The current workaround is to set FCP to “Warn After Capture”. Im not sure if these errors are actually accurate.

    workflow:
    SONY Z1U Camera for ingest.
AJA HD10A out of the camera into:
    Decklink HD PRO Single Link
Analog audio from the camera converted to SPIDF by the FLYING COW.

Firewire from the camera to the G5 for Deckcontrol.

    Medea GRAID for storage.
    Dual 1.8ghz (PCI-X) G5, 2GB RAM, 10.3.9, FCP 4.5

    thanks,

Sorry to be a naysayer, but expecting consistency and uniformity with unsupported formats is not realistic. Although I’m sure it’s not what you want to hear, I suggest you wait until FCP 5 for HDV support.

I could be wrong, however. Has anyone else done this with any success?
