    Hi Again Guys,

I have 2 Z1’s on free run synced up at the start of each shoot. My question is, when I pull it into Premiere it grabs the timecode from the start but then just free runs itself from there? There is a different timecode on the LCD Screen to the one on Premiere after each record point? i.e. it does not seem to use the timecode when I capture the tape, I would have to batch capture to get it perfect and doing weddings there is never a log sheet to do this as it is all ad hoc shooting!

I have tried getting around this by only using a new tape at the start of each shoot where I want to sync the two footages and use multicam. No massive big deal but sometimes the guys forget or events don’t make this possible. I can sync them manually but would be soo much easier to use the timecode on the media!

I know that you can click Scene Detect and it finds each record point but is there a better way of it capturing the timecode I am missing?

    Thanks Jon

I use ScenalyzerLive to capture the “before” and “after” footage. It allows for the timecode to be part of the file name. Then the two camera’s clips can be sorted in the Project window by name resulting in chronological order.
Hopefully the ceremony was not shot ad hoc.

Ah cool. How do you mean Ad Hoc? I try to use one tape for the ceremony and use other tapes for the before and after but isn’t always pratical!

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the advice. Purchased the program, it has halved my workflow. Now I can capture and index a tape in one, and then create clips for the areas I need, even merge two tape footage into one. Perfect, and it reatins the timecode, exactly what I need. Thanks a million. Jon
