    Hello

I am trying to find tablette / smartphone based timecode display for a music video that my son wants to shoot. I have a BWF file with the music & a timecode track and I figured that I would easily find an app that can output the audio and display the timecode on screen for syncing purposes.

Yes, this is a poor man’s Digitslate. Digislate is great for large productions, but is over kill for this. As the track is only 3mins long, I figure that the device TC drift will not be significant enough to impact the sync, so an smartphone could do the trick.

A quick look on the web shows a few digislate solutions for multicam etc, but I cannot find an app that has a timecode window and a simple BWF file player.

    Any thoughts are most welcome.

Hello Christopher and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

Final Cut Pro X has an overlay that shows time code of each clip placed on the time line. You just create a production, put clips on the timeline and drag and drop the time code element to the clips.

I had not thought of it like that.

If I create a video file with the timecode as the picture and the soundtrack is the music, I suppose I have what I need. On top of being simple to do and reliable, most video players like VLC can play at sped up speeds, so I can quite easily do in-sync slow motion shots.

    Thank you very much

    Christopher
