    Hey Everybody-

I can’t say it enough, Creative Cow is a phenomenal resource. You guys have bailed me out more than a few times in the past. I am adding a timecode window to a video file(quicktime reference)and there is alot of negative black space below the timecode numbers. I can’t crop it out in the effect controls on the timeline. I’ve also tried laying in a subtractive mask and the timecode window overrides that. Once again, any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you for your time,

    Michael Tapp

Thank you for your response Dave. When I posted I was using the Timecode effect under the video bracket in AE 6.5. The work around I found was the Numbers effect. I made the black window box with a mask and a black solid behind the video. With the Numbers effect I couldn’t find a way to start the timecode at 01:00:00:00 . The ‘timecode’ with the numbers plugin would also slightly move. I don’t understand the movement, I checked and there were no keyframes on that layer. The rough cut is out the door but it would be great to know how to do this properly for future rough cuts.
