  • Timecode break on multiple tapes using XHA1 camera

I’ve had a timecode break on almost every tape I’ve shot recently with my Canon XHA1 (HD – 60i mode). I upgraded to Panasonic AY-DVM63AMQ tapes (which others swear by) but am still getting nasty breaks. Since I shoot live events and need every frame, this is disastrous for me. I’ve tried cleaning the heads, too. Any ideas? Any recommendations for other brands of tape?

how much of the tape are you capturing at a time?
i wanna say that the limit for HDV is 21 minutes before you get drift.

on pc i capture the whole tape with HDV split. Scene Detection prevents this (for me)

    Hello,

I am having the exact some problem as you are. I can’t seem to figure it out, but feel the camera is at fault.

I hope someone can help our problem because it really is messing things up for me.

    Thanks
