Time to update Mac OX and QT?
Posted by Rafael Amador on November 2, 2008 at 9:57 amI’m working with FC 6.0.4 in Mac OX 10.5.4 and QT 7.5.
Is safe to go to Ma OX 10.5.5 and QT 7.5.5?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Cheers,

clone your drive and go for it!
Since I started cloning, I no longer have the hesitation that would always prompt me to post a similar post on the cow.Todd Reid

It’s good to see that all my jabbering about about cloning had an impact on someone.

David, you were the one who made me FINALLY see the light.
I have since passed along your advice to a least 3 others in the herd.Different topic…..
how come I can’t upload a picture for my my avatar?
I’ve chosen a few different pics, and the upload dialog just sits there, no error, no success, nothing.
When I go to check it, I see an empty box that says “add your avatar”.
what are the specs that you used?Todd Reid

Great, it’s always good to know that there are things other than mad cow disease that are passed on to others in the herd.

There is a file size limitation, so make the picture smaller than you might normally. You also have to give it time to propogate. And, make your picture square if you can. I’m sure it will work…

November 4, 2008 at 12:01 pmHi Todd and David,
Thanks a lot for your advise.
David, Todd is not the only one that you convinced to clone the System disk before up-dating (you are not preaching in Mojave, my friend:-).
Last time I updated I did it with CCC. However I don’t not if I miss something (there is any thing to miss in such a straightforward procedure?) because I had to reset all the keys in FC suit and almost all the plugins.
Any way I will go CCC.
Cheers,

Don’t what the problem was Rafael, as I’ve had nothing but good luck cloning with CCC, except once when I messed up by not erasing my hard drive before creating the clone. That one would not boot, thus making it rather useless. I still have a Tiger clone and a 5.1.4 clone of FCS just in case a client ever needs me to work on a project without updating their project, and those just boot right right up.
