On my timeline, I removed a shot from a video clip (but kept the audio portion) that was 30 seconds long and want to replace it with a shot that’s 45 seconds long, so to make it work within the audio, I need to time-stretch it by squeezing it into the same position the other deleted shot was. But when I try this, it only ends up trimming the video clip.

    Hi David,

You need to activate ‘Time Stretch’ mode on the event.

Move your Cursor to the end of the event you want to stretch.

Hold down the ‘Ctrl’ key. (The cursor will change to the stretch mode, not Trim mode.)

Left click and drag the end of the event for the correct duration as needed.

Once you release the click, the event will show a squiggly line indicating the time has been slowed down or sped-up depending on which way you dragged the end of the event.

    Regards,

    –Doug
