Hello, I have 2 questions regarding audio.

    1) Is there a way to modify time-stretch method parameter of multiple audio events at a time?
The ‘Properties’ menu is inaccessable when multiple audio events are selected so I have to set it one by one. It’s set to Elastique `Efficient` by default and that is really time consuming to modify them after slicing the track into billion pieces.
Any script doing this would be awesome.

    2) Is there a way to set time-stretch method to Elastique `Pro` by default?

    Unfortunately no.

[Omer Aydin] “Any script doing this would be awesome.”

This is not exposed by the Script API so it would be impossible to write a script to do this.

[Omer Aydin] “2) Is there a way to set time-stretch method to Elastique `Pro` by default?”

Yes, but it will void your warrantee. 😉

If you hold the SHIFT key while selecting Options | Preferences you will see a new tab called Internal. Select that tab and type “timestretch” in the box that says show only prefs containing: and you will be left with 4 preferences. Change Default Timestretch Mode 2 to be 0 and click Apply. Your default for Elastique will now be Pro.

Warning: Do not play with any parameters in the Internal prefs tab that you don’t understand. It’s hidden for a reason.

Thanks a lot John, that secret menu will help me a lot.

I actually sort of solved this problem. I had a pile of audio clips stretched as “efficient” and I wanted “pro”.

    1. Make sure your default in Vegas is set to elastique pro.

    2. Copy your events into a new project, or if your project is very very simple, just leave them where they are.

    3. Save project as EDL.

    4. Open new Vegas window, File Open, choose the EDL.

The EDL will know the speeds you want for your clips, and their placements, but it will _not_ know what kind of TimeStretch it was, so it will go to the default!

    5. Copy and paste the events back into your original project.

I saved so much time, I had more than enough to write this post and hope to save someone else a big tedious headache.
