    Hey guys,
I’m working on a video for a client that uses time remapping as the main effect. We shot the footage at 120fps for super slow-mo, and planned to use speed ramps in Adobe Premiere.

I turned on the “Time Remapping > Speed” keyframes in the timeline and have placed/edited keyframes there, toggling between that and the effect panel.

However, after playing with the footage, I discovered the max speed allowed for this is 1000% (which, I know, is very high. But, we want it to be much faster). I also noticed that this effect doesn’t allow numeric input values – meaning the only way to adjust the keyframes and speed is to drag the rubber band one way or the other. (Unless I’m totally overlooking something) Again, this wouldn’t be a huge deal breaker, except our intended values will be over 1000% and will not all be the same amount.

I’ve also played around with nesting a test sequence with the effect keyframed, then adding the effect again to the nested sequence. This DOES give me more power for speed, but every tweak would have to be done at the root level and would cause massive re-rendering.
This entire video is one giant speed ramp house party – easily 30+ speed ramps of product shots.

If this is likely a job for AE, how can I accomplish the above affect in that program?

    Thanks,
    -J

I would use Timewarp in after effects, this gives you 5000% plus pixel motion. If you need more precomp the layer first and use the speed/duration switch to speed up then apply Timewarp.
