Time Remapping cs3 problems
I am having problems changing the time of a clip, I can add keyframes and split them, I can change the speed of the whole clip but I cant put the two together! I am wondering if there is some setting I have changed that wont let the time remapping tool work properly?
When I try to change the speed by dragging the yellow line down or up by say 5% in the timeline, any keyframes I had added(to the yellow line) vanish and the clip either expands to the full uncut clip or contracts to a 1 second clip that cant be expand either way.
Any ideas?! -

Hi, yes thanks for this, I have looked up a lot of tutorials but when I try and follow them they wont work because of the problems I am having.

Ok, I have discovered that the time remapping tool works on other clips, so it must be this clip that is the problem. But, I do remember having this problem before. Just to set the scene, I have one video wich I have cut into lots of little bits (each bit is effectivly a copy of the original as i can expand each clip to the full video). The clip I am trying to remap is about 2 seconds long. when I apply a keyframe and try to change the elastic bands it either shrinks to 1 frame or expands to virtually the whole video, and there are no keyframes to be seen anywhere. I am only ajusting the % by 5-10. everythig else is working fine.

Hmm, interesting.
Just a shot in the dark: Try putting that subclip into its own sequence, then nest that sequence in the main sequence and use time-remapping on the nested sequence.

this suggestion worked for me.I had the same problem as Anna – seems to be a CS3 glitch!
