Hello. I’m trying to recreate a sequence with different media but with the same Color Correction filters and Time Remapping. Copy and pasteing attributes basicly… The problem is when I paste attributes, the in/out points change or sometimes it even turns the clip into a still. The new clips are identical to the old ones just captured with diffent names. It does not look the same most of the time. IT does work, sometimes…

I did a search so I know there are some other issuse with time remapping. Is copying and pasting time remapping a bad idea? The old sequence media is off line.

Sorry for being vague… I’m tired.

    Thanks FCP HD 4.5 DV

Use only short discrete clips for remapping. A subclip remapped from a master clip that is captured from an entire tape roll never seems to work right. Export the single clip then reimport and remap it.

Personally, I log and capture all of my clips to avoid troubles like this. I’m not a fan of capturing entire rolls then subclipping them even though it saves time in the short run. Anomolies occur with speed, time remapping, reconnecting and media management. These are troubles I don’t really like to deal with, so I log and capture the old fashioned way. Takes longer but is an inherently more stable way to work with FCP.

    Kevin,
Thanks so much! I suspected as much, maybe it will be better with FCP 5.
