    Here’s the problem:

In comp 1 I’ve made a camera move back on a still with motion blur. Simple.

Now in a new comp, comp 2, I wan’t to timeremap comp 1. The problem is there is no real motion on an object to calculate motion blur in comp 2. How do I get around this? Reel smart motion blur?

    Cheers.M.

Yepp, try RSMB or similar tools. If you’re not looking for excessive trails, you might even consider CC Force Motionblur which comes free with the Professional version of AE.

I don’t understand why you would want to timewarp something that you animated in the first place. Why not just change the timing of the camera in comp1?

    Hi Chris,

This is just a simple example…1 camera, 1 layer. Sure, why wouldn’t I just change the camera timing in comp 1. But what if I had multiple cameras and multiple layers, and I wanted to change the timing of comp 1 with motion blur. I’m guessing it would be alot simpler to adjust one layer’s timing properties in comp 2(comp 1 is now a layer in comp 2), than several cameras properties in comp 1. Comp 1 would always be my master comp. I love answering my own questions. CC motion blur works great by the way. Thanks for the reply.

Brings up a good point. AE should have a time remap thing like C4D that time remaps a sequence of keyframes not video itself. In C4D you can make an animation as complex as you wish then just use a time track and do a simple speed change on it. This will warp every keyframe “inside” of it.
